Abstract:

Contemporary chambers of commerce have come into being with the development of the market economy
and they play an increasingly important role in economic development. This paper aims to introduce the
nature, history, governance and related research into China’s chambers of commerce. The paper also
analyzes the problems in the development of contemporary chambers of commerce. Finally, this paper
sums up some new changes in the practice of contemporary China’s chambers of commerce and makes
some suggestions for the future development, operation and innovation of chambers of commerce in
China.
