Abstract:

Corporations are ostensibly affected each day by the decisions of lawmakers. Hence, it would seem that their participation in the political process‒ through the support of campaigns, candidates, and causes that may buttress business strategies and enhance corporate goodw‒il l would necessarily be commensurate with the aspirations of the shareholder. But when such participation is effected using resources without preauthorization or disclosure of purpose, rectification of a tarnished reputation and misused monies can only be attempted post facto through limited, often inefficacious ways.
