Abstract:

This mixed methods study was designed to determine what factors characterize adequate support and
preparation for Masters level students for both native English speakers and second-language learners. The study measured perceptions of graduate level success in the areas of support, study and research skills, undergraduate preparation, and the role of mentoring and advising. The purpose of this research was to strengthen Masters level programs in the social sciences to increase overall student success.
