Abstract:

The owner of a company will want to directly or through the medium of professional executive
management to control the operation of that company. Placing a distinct and separate authority at the top
of the organization, is not leadership as commonly understood by many. Rather, it is a command that
gives legitimate expression to the role of management over the function of leadership. The focus of this
paper is on the strategic role performed by the chief executive in providing the embodiment of vision,
executive management, and control toward organizational leadership.
